Residential Addition

Project Description:
The original structure was a 2 bedroom 1 bath house that was 862 square feet. The addition proposed adding an extra 800 square feet, and included the addition of a master bedroom and bathroom, a formal dining room, a children's playroom, a hallway with linen storage, and increaseing the size of the front room and kitchen. In order to achieve these desired results, it was necessary to remove 2 bearing walls.
Solution:
In order to support the roof structure with the removal of the 2 bearing walls, 2 girder trusses were necessary. One of the girder trusses also supported the roofing structure of 400 square feet of the new addition. In addition, the front trusses was designed to create a seamless connection between the old and new structures. In total, 6 different truss designs were created to complete the project.
